This is it!

The final week of our harvest season is here. With 34 weeks of abundant harvests behind us, we are ready to gather all that remains for one final week of veggie boxes and farmers market!

For some, it is hard to believe that the end of the season is here, when crops are still so prolific, vibrant, and profuse. After so many months of heavy production, it is time to allow the fields to rest and revitalize for the season to come. May brings heat and insect pressure, increasing the challenges of growing crops organically. The crops are on their way out, and the end of this week will truly be the final harvest. As hard as it is to believe, there will be nothing left. June brings rain, very high heat, and the unpredictability of hurricane season. It is the perfect time for us to give the break in production to the fields.

So don’t hold back – don’t stay home this weekend. Grab your reusable bags and make sure you get out and visit us at the market or pre-order for one final drive-thru pickup.

We have a wide variety of veggies, herbs, greens, and everyone’s favorite red watermelons. Everything is of exceptional quality, and ready to feed you fresh from your refrigerator for the next couple of weeks, or through the summer if you choose to freeze, can, or dehydrate. Plan to spend your week savoring the final fruits of the harvest season.

Each week spent eating with the seasons feels like a celebration – of flavor, variety, health, abundance, cooking, weather, plants, people, natural resources, sun, air, soil, water, microbes, animals, insects, Earth, and all living things. Eating food from farms near you, and experiencing a connection to what you consume brings richness to nourishing yourself, and strength to communities. We have worked hard so that we can grow the best seasonal food each season. Growing it and sharing it with all of you is our passion and our life’s work. We thank you for being a part of Little Pond Farm!

We hope to see you at the market or drive-thru pickup this weekend for the last harvest of the season!

sincerely,
Ellen, Cole and the entire Little Pond Team

Thank you for your support this season!
