Who we are:
Little Pond Farm is owned and operated by husband and wife team Cole and Ellen Turner. Established in 2013, the farm resides on 26 acres in Sumter County, on the edge of 20,000 acres of vast wildlife management preserves. We grow organic vegetables and cut flowers for a weekly farmer’s market, and community-supported agriculture program.
Our growing practices:

Our farm is USDA Certified Organic by Quality Certification Services (QCS). As an organic farm, we never use synthetic inputs, and instead cultivate the soil with compost, green manure and other organic matter. We are dedicated to caring for the farm in a way that supports the surrounding ecosystem and wildlife. On the farm, we pair intensive crop production with sustainable organic farming practices by utilizing cover crops, crop rotation, crop diversity, mulches, and beneficial insects/attractants.
In addition to being USDA Certified Organic, our farm is certified with the Florida Department of Agriculture for best irrigation management practices, and we have partnered with the Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) to continue to expand our water-conservation practices.
We are continually fine-tuning our organic farming techniques in order to grow the most delicious and healthful vegetables you can find.
We are dedicated to stewarding the earth with care while growing high-quality, affordable organic food and flowers for the community. We strive for exceptional quality, flavor, nutritional value, beauty and interest in all that we grow and hope you can see that in our work.
