It’s another week at our farm in central Florida. Now, the number of harvests that remain can be counted on one hand. It’s hard to imagine how this season flew by so quickly. Truth be told – we’ve been busy.
We are finished planting for the season – so our remaining work is laid out plainly in front of us:
- Harvest an absolute tsunami of vegetables and flowers, traveling down weekly to St. Pete for these next five weekends.
- Get through Mother’s Day flower harvest (biggest flower harvest of the year – just two weeks away)
- Launch farm membership enrollment (Thursday May 16th!) (get on the waitlist)
- Complete farm projects before the summer arrives. Our hands are full with construction and excavation (for piping) projects this year.
- Say goodbye for the summer to all of our St. Pete friends at the last farmer’s market of the season on May 25th!
- Plan the new season ahead, and begin sowing those seeds.
On top of this, we’ve been deep in the weeds of preserving the harvest for our own consumption through the summer off-season. We’ve gained a lot of knowledge on how to best freeze and dry and cure foods for the summer.
We’ve shared all that we’ve learned in our blog post:
Make the harvest last through the off-season.
This last month of the season can be wild and wonderful – we’re packing the truck up weekly filled with all we’ve got – the fruits veggies and flowers of our labor. We’re grateful to share it with you for such a long and winding season each year. Before we rest and recoup in the summer, we’ve got a lot of abundance bring in. Stick with us!

P.S. happy Earth week!
